Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering squads to ensure alignment with business and technology goals.
• Define team objectives, conduct performance reviews and drive skill development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Oversee project planning and delivery with focus on timelines, quality and efficiency.
• Ensure effective use of Jira, sprint tracking and time logging for transparency.
• Anticipate and resolve delivery and operational challenges proactively.
• Promote modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, automation and monitoring.
• Drive the adoption of AI tools to enhance productivity, testing and analytics.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, especially in AI, Azure and DevOps and guide best practices.
• Implement upskilling programs and mentor engineers to build technical and leadership capabilities.
• Optimize engineering operations, budgets and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with leadership to align engineering initiatives with the technology roadmap.
• Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and engineering metrics.

Prerequisites

• Bachelor's degree or higher in software engineering, computer science or an equivalent field.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong software engineering background with hands-on experience building and delivering high-quality software products and solutions.
• Deep understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps, and software quality practices.
• Proven ability to implement and scale engineering standards in complex, multi-team environments.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a collaborative, change-agent mindset
